It seems like John Abraham is one of such Bollywood actors who is serious to do something good for the country in the entertainment field. The supermodel-turned-actor-producer has recently said that he wishes to bring about a change in Indian cinema. Perhaps we can expect to see that from him in the near future. As an actor-producer, he has proved that he is a perfect mix of brains and brawn. From producing Indian cinema’s first ever film on sperm donation to giving an insight into the iconic nuclear test of Pokhran, he has done it all.
Recently, the Bollywood hunk was interviewed by news agency IANS. During which the actor opened up on bringing about a change in the Indian cinema. This is what he has said:
“We just had five days of promotion of ‘Parmanu…’ and I am really glad how the film sustained in the theater for so long, and not only earned money but respect too. I think the best promotion for a film is the film itself. As an actor-producer, I really want to change our Indian cinema so that people gain that faith to invest time and money on a Friday to go to the theater to watch a film produced by (my banner) JA Entertainment.”
Meanwhile, John Abraham’s action movie ‘Satyameva Jayate’ is releasing soon and he has two important films lined up after this – ‘Batla House’ and ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ (RAW). The actor said that both the movies will give him the opportunity to prove his potential as an actor, as well as, a producer.
He added that ‘Batla House’ has a superb story and shows today’s India exactly the way it is. However, the Parmanu star said:
“People can either like the film or throw it on my face, but the fact is I am making a statement with that film. As a producer, I know what do I really want to do and associate myself with.”
John Abraham was asked if that was that the reason for shifting his focus to produce meaningful films, he replied by saying:
“Yes, you can say that. Every time people call me to say how amazing I was looking in the film. As an individual, I am very shy to take the compliment and as an actor, I was not getting films that I wanted myself to be associated with. That was the initial reason why I started working towards becoming a producer.”
Needless to say, John Abraham’s last release ‘Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran’ did pretty well at the Box Office and the actor is now all geared up for the release of his next film ‘Satyameva Jayate’ that is slated to release on Independence Day.
Here’s wishing John Abraham all the best for his upcoming movies and his interest to bring a change in Indian cinema. Good luck, John!
