In the harbor of Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey, in the Canary Islands in Spain, fishing is a common occupation. What isn’t needed is thrown back via the landing stairs visible in the video. As a result of that, various aquatic animals come to feed there, including stingrays. Stingrays aren’t really known for being aggressive, but they do have a poisonous stinger that they attack with whenever they feel threatened.
A little boy, named Joel, has fostered an unusual friendship with a rather large stingray, which he likes to feed by hand. Joel calls the stingray by splashing the water with his hands. When he was doing this, a crowd gathered and someone taped the incident.
