The last one week has been truly sad for the entire nation, when veteran actress Sridevi left the world suddenly and left many heartbroken. On February 28, her body was finally laid to rest after a three hour public darshan. A record number of mourners attended Sridevi’s final journey as it made its way from the Celebrations Sports Club to Vile Parle crematorium.
#Sridevi's funeral estimated to have attracted the highest number of mourners, ranking on par with previous biggest non-political funeral processions such as Mohammed Rafi (around a million mourners; 1980), Rajesh Khanna (Jul2012), Raj Kapoor (Jun1988) & Vinod Khanna (Apr2017). pic.twitter.com/xcKzkY8s8J

Sridevi’s final journey caught the attention of the entire nation, but it was her family members who stood by her like rock. In her beautiful last journey, she laid at rest covered in white flowers and among her loved ones.

Late Sridevi left behind two beautiful daughters Jhanvi and Khushi, who were closest to their mother. During her final procession, the young ladies looked lost, sober, shocked and perhaps unaccepting of what laid in front of their eyes – the body of the soul who brought them into this world and left too soon.
Here are some pictures which capture her daughter’s witnessing the worst:
While everyone’s support and empathy goes out to the family for this grieving moment, it was the state honours prior to the cremation, which was too hard to bear. After Maharashtra government’s decision, the actress who was conferred the honorary Padma Shri in 2013, was draped in the national tricolour, amidst elaborate arrangements by the Mumbai Police and a gun salute. The entire Kapoor clan was present when this was done.

The actress was kept at the Celebrations Sports Club, in which she was laid in a glass casket covered in white flowers. The mortal remains of Sridevi were wrapped in her favourite red and golden Kanjeeivaram saree, wore a red bindi and even had a manglasutra attached.
She looked peaceful in her bridal avatar and in death.
Perhaps the most heartbreaking moment of Sridevi’s final journey was her eldest daughter Jhanvi Kapoor’s video. A sobbing Jhanvi went around her mother’s body, capturing her as close as possible, in her last moments with her mother. An inconsolable Jhanvi took this video, which in the end, even captured actress Tisca Chopra supporting her uncle Anil Kapoor.
This video is perhaps the last visuals of the actress before she was finally cremated:

While Jhanvi will miss her mother’s presence when her debut movie releases, she will have to grow up too soon. Her father Boney Kapoor just released a statement after their irreplaceable loss and this is what he said:
