Bo-taoshi is a Japanese sport where two teams of 150 members each battle it out over control of a pole. It looks much like the Indian pyramid game played during Janmashthami celebrations, where teams compete against each other in making the tallest human pyramid to break a pot hanging from a rope many meters high. Bo-taoshi is much evolved game; here two teams square off against one another. While the objective of one is to save the pole from falling, the other aims in doing the opposite. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see two Indian teams battling it out over a pot?
