The list of fake Godmen is increasing day by day and it’s a wake-up call for people who blindly trust such individuals in the name of God. With their deceptive ways, these self-proclaimed messengers of god blindside people promising to make their lives better and exploit them mentally, financially, and, often, sexually. Less than two months ago, the so-called godman, Gurmeet Singh was sent behind bars after the charges against him got proved. Radhe Maa was recently seen doing some cheap moves in a viral video. And now, a Jain muni has been arrested for allegedly raping a 19-year-old.
Shattering the faith of many, a case against this monk has been filed for taking advantage of his innocent devotee who came to seek his blessings along with her parents on October 1.

The 45-year-old Shantisagar Maharaj of the Digambar sect allegedly raped the victim. The crime was revealed after a medical examination that took place following a formal police complaint was against the religious leader. Talking about the case, the police told Ahmedabad Mirror:
“On October 1, the girl, her brother and parents had gone to seek his blessings. The Acharya allegedly convinced them to stay back for the chanting of mantras. Then he allegedly took the girl to another room, on pretext of performing puja and raped her.”
Initially, the girl was afraid of reporting the incident but 11 days later the case got filed in the police station after the girl finally told her parents about the incident.
Soon the news of the FIR went viral and the muni took a vow of silence. He was then taken in for questioning and got arrested on the same day. Reports say that the saint is claiming innocence and alleges that he is being framed in the case.
Talking about the case, Surat Zone 4 DCP Vidhi Chaudhari, said:
“We have discovered evidence that the girl was raped and based on that, we will be investigating the acharya.”
Meanwhile, thousands of Jains protested against the arrest of the monk claiming that he is being defamed.
