Someone played the crackliest troll on the Indian government’s porn ‘ban’ (block?) but Dainik Jagran took it so seriously that they the stupidest mistake in journalism.
On Tuesday, ‘Dainik Jagran’ – a leading Hindi daily – posted an article on their website with this headline:
The link to the article, which has now been removed, alleges that the Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal has put up posters and hoardings all over the city pleading PM Modi to lift the ‘porn ban’ for the sake of Sunny Leone.
Dainik Jagran took down the report a few hours later, but a post on their official Facebook page remains active.
The post contains an image of a hoarding with the appeal written in Hindi and carrying an unofficial logo of the Delhi government.
It is clear from the hoarding that the Delhi government has no hand in this act of trolling.
The AAP-led Delhi government is yet to make a comment on the Dainik Jagran goof up. Meanwhile, ‘Dainik Jagran’ is busy searching for other sensational stories that they can publish and then take down.
