Like it or not, but the society and the world we live in is full of biases, hypocrisy, and is utterly sexist when it comes to issues between men and women. The problem will not end anytime. True, we are living in a society where men always have an upper hand over women in every aspect of life. We are living in a world where a man can do anything he likes or behave in whatever way he wants but a woman can’t do the same. That’s not all. While a man embracing his sexuality is completely natural and normal, a woman doing the same is often deemed as a slut or a whore. That’s our society. That’s our world.
And thus is a heart-wrenching story of an Italian woman, Tiziana Cantone, who was branded as ‘Italy’s Blowjob Girl’ in a meme after a video of her giving a guy a blowjob went viral, which consequently forced her to commit suicide. The story was shared in a series of tweets by Gianpaolo Russo. It tells us how one’s callous move can change someone’s life forever. Take a read the series of tweets and think twice the next time when you brand someone a slut or a whore or share someone’s intimate pic online.

10. Maybe nobody must’ve cared to think about the impact one share would have on Tiziania’s life.
Who bothered to think about the impact on Tiziana’s life? It’s funnier to just bash her for doing something we all enjoy in private.

11. A woman embracing her sexuality is being slut-shamed and pushed back.
Well Tiziana is now dead, and we keep teaching women that if you’re sexual you’re a whore, and that you deserve to be bashed.

16. Our society conveniently finds a way to victimize the culprit and shame the victim.
Meanwhile Tiziana Cantone lies dead. Her parents without a child. A man lives without punishment, and so do thousands of others who laughed.

17. You think it’s okay, but your one casual dig can shatter someone’s world.
“Just a meme,” “just a joke,” or “It’s just for laughs.” Think about it next time. Who are you hurting? How much are you hurting them?

Anywhere in the world, especially in less developed economies, each time a woman is raped, molested or eve-teased, the blame often lands on her shoulders and not the sick mentality of those misogynist beings. But if this is how a developed European nation behaves with its women, one can only pity the state of the world.
