ISIS Flags Waved Outside Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid. Twitter Erupts With Anger!

The Muslim holy month of Ramadan is going on and most of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims are observing it. On June 11, Shab-e-Qadar, the holiest day of Ramadan was observed. Muslims celebrated the day and offered prayers as per rituals. On this occasion, a big religious gathering was held at Jamia Masjid of Srinagar. On this special night, tens of thousands of devotees, from all parts of the state gathered at the mosque and participated in the prayers that continued throughout the night.

While there was the spirit of devotion and prayers inside the Jamia Mosque, something absolutely shocking and hideous was reported happening outside it. This was brought to popular attention by journalist Aditya Raj Kaul.

In a tweet, Kaul mentioned that on Shab-e-Qadar, ISIS flags were waved and slogans in praise of terrorist Sajad Gilkar were chanted outside the Jamia Masjid. Take a look at Aditya Raj Kaul’s tweet below:


Sajid Gilkar, whose name is being chanted in the video above was one of the terrorists killed last year in Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian security forces. As per reports, he had played a key role in the lynching of DSP Ayub Pandit. The incident had sent shockwaves throughout the country. Later, the Jammu and Kashmir police had arrested 20 accused in the case of DSP Ayub Pandit’s lynching.

As expected, the waving of ISIS flag and chanting of slogans remembering terrorist Sajad Gilkar weren’t praised by the public at large. This could be seen on the social media.
