Former Pakistan player Tauseef Ahmed has said that the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) anti-corruption and security unit needs to probe India’s last World T20 match against Bangladesh as the result looks suspicious to him.
The 57-year old spinner, said that he could see no cricketing logic as to why Bangladesh played the last over the way they did and gifted the match to India.
He also added that Bangladesh are no longer an inexperienced side and there were experienced players at the crease in the last over.
He also expressed his concern that nowadays ‘things do happen in cricket matches’ so there was no harm in looking into the match.
Ahmed was talking to Pakistan’s Geo Super channel when he said:
On March 23 India had won the match against Bangladesh by 1 run and that too on the very last ball. Bangladesh had needed just two runs to win from three balls remaining. But India had recovered and three wickets had fallen in quick succession leading India to swoop victory away from Bangladesh.
