Sweets Were Exchanged Among Indian And Pakistani Troops At The Wagah Border

Indian troops offered sweets to Pakistani troops at the Wagah border to celebrate their Independence Day.

This traditional custom is a warm gesture to celebrate each other’s freedom.

Every year, border troops exchange sweets at the Wagah border on their respective Independence Days, and also on other special occasions.


Despite rising tensions at the Line of Control, the sweets were exchanged this year as well.




Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Commandant, Sudeep, presented sweets and shook hands with Pakistan Rangers Wing Commander, Bilal, during a ceremony to celebrate India’s Independence Day at the Wagah border.



Also, Indian BSF Commandant presented sweets to Pakistani Wing Commander, Bilal.



Indian troops and Chinese armies also exchanged sweets on the Independence Day at the strategic Nathula border. This time, there was no ceremonial meeting held.
