This is a handpicked list of those icons from whom we wish to see more this year and in years to come.

With a biography made on her life, she sure has achieved a lot in her 32 years. Her struggle and success has made her an inevitable icon. Being a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion and having won a bronze medal in Olympics 2012, we wish to see her rise in this year’s Olympic games too. Our fingers are crossed for a Gold Medal from her now.

 

2. Freida Pinto

This globally acclaimed Indian actress has grabbed media attention for all good reasons, be it her beauty or the projects she has been working on. It is a great to see an Indian origin actress take the global platform and remove the myth of being cast only in unimportant roles. What this year holds for her and what she has to offer to her fans is what will unfold as the year passes, but we definitely want to see her in more Hollywood movies doing prominent roles.

 

3. Saina Nehwal

The Indian badminton player has won accolades for her spectacular performances. She is the first Indian woman to become the world’s number 1 badminton player, and we still look forward to more. With Olympics 2016 round the corner, all Indians have high expectations from her this time, having already brought the bronze medal the last time. This year we definitely want her name to be buzzing around.

4. Kapil Sharma

With news of his popular show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ going off air, we sure are going to miss the weekend laugh riots. We have not got enough of him and would want to see him in a comedy show soon or a movie akin to his debut ‘Kis Kisko Pyar Karoon’. He is the most beloved comedian and we want to see more of him this year and in years to come.

 

5. Irrfan Khan

This effortless actor is a treat to watch and all adore him for his precision in acting. Be it Hollywood or Bollywood he has left a mark in small as well as power packed roles. This year, we all look forward for his upcoming movie ‘Inferno’ with Tom Hanks and Felicity Jonnes. Her has raised the bar of our expectation and surely lives up to it every time. We want to see him globally rise and get honored for his work.

 

6. Sundar Pichai



Who would have thought that one day an Indian would lead one of the most powerful companies in the world? Sundar Pichai is the name that is being chanted all across our country. Having being selected as the CEO of Google in 2015, we would love to witness him making breakthrough developments in his field and visit India more often for intriguing sessions that inspire the youth.

 

7. Narain Karthikeyan

The first formula one racer from India has tried his luck in World Championships, but without a win. Still, he has become a role model for many aspirants. He is currently racing in the highly competitive Super Formula in Japan. Having finished 11th in the 2015 series, we look forward to see how he fairs in the 2016 series. We hope to see more of what he does. Being the first Indian to have ventured into this field, he sure has achieved a lot.

8. AR Rahman

The innovative music director has been creating some soulful music since he started. His music becomes the identity of movies and that is the reason for it being received and appreciated globally. We would like to listen to more of his creations this year too and who knows, it might win him another Grammy and an Oscar.

 

9. Chetan Bhagat

The Indian author, columnist and motivational speaker is known for his record breaking novels such as ‘Three Mistakes of my Life’, ‘5 Point Someone’ and more. We would like to read more of such novels, leaving aside some of the disappointments such as ‘Half Girlfriend’; a movie of the same name is slated to be released this year tentatively. Nevertheless, we want to read more of his creations this year too.

 

10. Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal

The Snapdeal founders have changed the e-commerce space dramatically with new approach and promising deliveries. Their notable performance leaves us expecting more from them and we would want to see how they can evolve in this space further. In any way, it benefits us as customers and we want more ease of trustworthy shopping.

 

11. Deepika Padukone

This Bollywood beauty is in the news over speculations of her being cast in the Vin Diesel starrer ‘XXX’ series. With her movies having gained commercial success and critical praise, her venturing into the West is not much of a surprise. We definitely want to see her taking a global pedestal with this movie and this year, it is going to be the talk of the town.
