Shah Rukh Khan had recently said that it was his dream to bring the great epic Mahabharata to the big screen but added that the film would need a mammoth budget which he cannot afford.

Now a UAE-based Indian businessman is reportedly ready to spend Rs.1,000 crore to make Mahabharata.

According to reports, businessman Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty is planning to rope in ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon to direct the magnum opus.

The film adaptation will have two parts and will be released in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and every major Indian language.

Academy Award winners will be hired for the project – so far the costliest in the history of Indian cinema.

MT Vasudevan Nair, a Padma Bhushan and Jnanpith awardee, will be writing the screenplay.
