Warriors are not born but made in the Indian army.
And we, with utmost pride, call these warriors, our soldiers. They are just ordinary people who are infused with extraordinary courage, and have an abiding love for the country. Most of us, live with a wrong belief that soldiers in Kashmir are repeatedly terrorizing common people. But in reality, they are diligently protecting them every day and are forever ready to die for them.
They proved their mettle again. They rescued a pregnant woman as the ambulance carrying her got stuck in heavy snow.
The ambulance was carrying nine people including two patients, a pregnant lady and a 15-year-old boy under postoperative recovery.
They were traveling from Tangadhar, Kupwara district to Chowkibal. A massive landslide occurred, which blocked their way, leaving them in a hapless situation.
The ambulance could not move ahead or return back as both sides of the road were covered in snow.
Being at an altitude of 10,000 feet, things became really worse as the temperature steadily dropped down. Both the patients were in a vulnerable state. The pregnant woman was also suffering from Anaemia. Such conditions could have been fatal for her.
Fortunately, the army rescue team reached the place on time.
They not only cleared the way for the ambulance to return to Tangdhar, but also provided medical relief and care to the patients. They carried the pregnant lady to the nearest medical camp.
No words can justify this heroic act.
