The Indian Army Medical Corps came into existence on April 3, 1943. The Corps started progressing fast post Independence. The post of Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services, was created in 1949 as a coordinating head of the medical services of the Army, Navy and Air Force. You will be amazed to see the kind of medical equipments they use. Not just the armed forces, these medical personnel also serve families of soldiers and civilians as well.
