India is celebrating its 70th Republic Day. Every year, the Republic Day Parade is attended by thousands of people at Rajpath in New Delhi. It not only showcases the strength of our nation but also acquaints us with the rich cultural heritage that belongs to our country. This year for the first time we will have Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army (INA) veterans participating in the Republic Day parade. Four INA veterans will be taking part in the parade this year.
We all know that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose after separating from Indian National Congress in 1939 formed INA that also participated in World War II.
The role of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and his INA stands incomparable.
The four INA veterans who would be participating in the parade include Parmanand Yadav (95) from Chandigarh, Lalit Ram (98) from Panchkula, Bhagmal (100) from Manesar and Hira Singh (97) from Narnaul. They will be paraded in an open jeep lead by a jeep carrying Param Vir Chakra awardees.
Not just participation of INA veterans, the celebrations will also be dominated by naari shakti with maximum women participation. There will be 16 marching contingents and 4 of them will be led by women officers.
