A lot has been said over a few days about Pakistanis demanding Nobel Peace prize for their Prime Minister Imran Khan. A hashtag started trending on Twitter after he announced the release of captured IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan. He also said that this is a ‘peace gesture’ of Pakistan towards India. Thankfully, the pilot is home but our neighbors are making demands that Imran Khan ‘deserves’ the prize. Following that, Imran Khan Tweeted in Hindi to say a few words.
This post with humble words is attracting flak from the Indian audience. It is quite expected as Imran Khan Tweeted in Hindi. He took to his party PTI’s official Twitter handle to post the message. This has probably never happened before! If you dig the official handle then the earlier tweets are either in Urdu or English. Here is what the post read:
For those struggling with Hindi, the tweet roughly translates to:
‘I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and paves the way for peace & human development in the Indian subcontinent.’
Naturally, it took just a few minutes for the Indians to spot the fact that Imran Khan Tweeted in Hindi. Since then, they couldn’t stop themselves from showering comments. While some were irritated, others took a more sarcastic or witty path. Check out some of the comments:
