In a shocking incident, the District Magistrate of Buxar, Mukesh Pandey, was found dead near the rail tracks in Ghaziabad yesterday. On further probe into the matter, a descriptive video was also found, filmed by Pandey himself, where he says that no one is to be blamed for his suicide. However, Pandey did talk about the escalating tension between his parents and his wife, describing his relationship with his wife as one between “coal and cheese”.
The video, which spans about five minutes, also shows Pandey talking about his little kid and how he knows and appreciates his wife’s love and dedication towards him. A suicide note was also found with his body, which disclosed that he had traveled to Delhi for official work and was put up in a five-star hotel.
Talking about the case, police officer H.N. Singh disclosed what was written in the note:
I am committing suicide in the district centre area of Janakpuri in west Delhi…by jumping off the 10th floor of the building. I am fed up with life and my belief on human existence has gone, my suicide note is kept in a Nike bag in room 742 of a five-star hotel in Delhi. I am sorry, I love you all! Please forgive me.
Struck with a major loss and irreparable grief, Mr. Pandey’s father also talked about his last phone-call with his son
I spoke to him last on Tuesday…he sounded happy and asked about my diabetes.
Mukesh Pandey was a 2012-batch IAS officer, who had stood 14th in his civil service examinations. He had also mentioned in his suicide note about his loss of “belief on human existence”.
