Ian Grillot, the American man who was injured last month when he tried to save Indian Engineer from a racial attack in Kansas was honored by the Indian Community with $ 100,000.
The money was given as a gesture of thank-you to Grillot, who had launched himself at the Navy veteran targeting the Indians and had injured his hand in the process.
He was honored as “A True American Hero” at the gala event of the Indian House Houston where on March 25 and was given the raised amount of $ 100,000.

The annual Gala is the main fundraising event of the India House, where all proceeds go to day to day community programs at the Indian House or is used for its expansion.

After getting the cheque Grillot said that he was honored to get such a support and that it was blessing to be alive.
“Without all the prayers and positive support from everybody, I wouldnt be doing as well as I am right now. Its been a blessing to be alive… You guys are wonderful and I thank you all for such a support.”
Hyderabad-born engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was killed in the shooting on February 23, while his colleague Alok Madasani was critically injured.
