These 11 Hollywood Films Should Be On Your ‘Must Watch’ List In 2016

The wait is over and 2015 is about to end. All the awesome movies which were shot during 2015 are about to hit theatres. From superhero movies, fantasy fiction to comedy sagas, the Hollywood is raining you with creativity and originality.

Memorize this list and don’t ever complain that nobody told you.



1. Civil War

This movie will bring both ‘Captain America’ and ‘Iron Man’ fans together. And when two superpowers collide, the friction begins.

Story: Political interference in the Avenger’s activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man.


2. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

The superhero film was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con International in 2013 and since then, we are endlessly waiting for its release. The wait will end on March 25, 2016.

Story: Batman travels to Metropolis to preemptively combat Superman, fearing what would happen if the latter is kept unchecked, while another threat endangers humankind.


3. Kung Fu Panda 3

If you haven’t watched its first two parts, then you deserve a Kung-Fu kick from me. Don’t worry, you have enough time to watch them, as the third installment of the Kung-Fu legacy is slated to release on January 29, 2016.

Story: Po reunites with his biological father and travels with him to a secret sanctuary of pandas where, to his surprise, he does not fit in. To make matters worse, an evil ancient spirit called Kai begins terrorizing China and stealing the powers of defeated kung fu masters.


4. Popeye

During childhood, we all loved wasting our afternoons watching Popeye back-to-back and he sprouted our unconditional love for spinach. But now, we will see Popeye in filmy style with the same swag.

Story: This script of this movie is still in development stage


5. The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist

This is the sequel to the horror film ‘The Conjuring’. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 10, 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.

Story: The real life paranormal investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren made it to the big screen in the 2013 horror hit ‘The Conjuring. Soon the married couple demonologists will return with the second installment. No spoiler alert this time!


6. Suicide Squad

It is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team. The characters in this movie are really insane and psychopathic. Watch it as your own risk. The film is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.

Story:  The plots are based on the ‘Suicide Squad’ comics.


7. Independence Day 2: Resurgence

Get ready to see some groundbreaking visual effects again. This sequel is scheduled to be released on June 24, 2016.

Story: Two decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But, will mankind’s new space defenses be enough?


8. Transformers: Rise of Unicron

The transformers franchise continues.

Story: This plot starts in with the end scene of ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’, right after Optimus kills Sentinel Prime in Chicago. The events in this story are not related to those in ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’, but rather an alternate outcome of ‘Dark of the Moon’.


9. The Legend of Tarzan

This upcoming American action adventure film is based based on the ‘Tarzan’ character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It will be released on July 1, 2016.

Story: Tarzan left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life and he has been invited back  to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the corrupt Belgian Captain Rom.

10. X-Men: Apocalypse

A lot has been said about the upcoming ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and the introduction of new characters has multiplied our excitement but there is still a lot to be revealed. This movie  is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.

Story: The most powerful mutant, Apocalypse, awakens after thousands of years and creates a team of powerful mutants to destructively “cleanse” humanity and create a New World Order. Raven, along with Professor X, must lead the X-Men to stop Apocalypse.


10. The Jungle Book

Since the day the trailer was out on Youtube, everyone had a warm rush of childhood memories. I doubt that anybody would give this movie a miss. This movie is scheduled to release on April 15, 2016.

Story: Mowgli is a boy who was raised by the Indian wolves Raksha and Akela. When the fearsome tiger Shere Khan threatens his life, Mowgli leaves his jungle home. Guided by Bagheera, the black panther, and Baloo, the bear, he sets out on a journey of self-discovery.
