Actor Salman Khan had remained a hot topic of discussion both on and off the social media over the last few weeks. By now we all know the reason!

Earlier this month, the 52-year-old star was convicted in the 20-year old blackbuck poaching case, and was sentenced to five years in jail. However, only after spending nearly 48 hours inside the Jodhpur Central Jail, he was released and granted bail. He has now started shooting for his upcoming and ongoing projects, including the awaited flick “Race 3”.

The actor is also known for the 2002 hit and run case. In the first week of April, a bailable warrant was issued against him because of his failure of providing a surety (a guarantor for good behaviour) in the past two dates, as part of the procedure.

But the Mumbai Sessions Court on April 21 cancelled the bailable warrant against him in the case.

Earlier, as per Pradeep Gharat (special public prosecutor), Salman did not complete the procedure of providing surety (a guarantor for good behavior) on the previous two dates. Salman’s manager Reshma had stood as his surety earlier but the two parted ways, last year. Before the deadline, the actor appeared in the court and signed the documents. Salman’s new surety in the case is his bodyguard Shera, who has been by his side for a long time now.

The special public prosecutor had mentioned, “Salman had to appear before the court here to furnish surety as per the direction of the Supreme Court which has admitted the government’s appeal.”

Salman was acquitted of all criminal charges by the Bombay High Court in December 2015. At that time the court gave the order due to lack of substantial evidence. The actor was accused of running his car over people sleeping on the pavement in suburban Bandra, killing one ( the 2002 hit-and-run case).
