Shooter Heena Sidhu Comments On Those Who Do Not Stand Up For National Anthem

Ace Indian shooter Heena Sidhu has landed herself in a controversy. Heena has lately commented something related to national anthem that has now landed her in a trouble. The 28-year-old sportswoman said that she feels proud to be a sportsperson and standing while the national anthem is being played in a cinema hall is something important.



The shooter wrote on Twitter:

“No need to stand up for National Anthem means you can carry on eating your pop-corns, chit-chatting, talking loudly on your phone while it’s playing. Sometimes, I feel so blessed to be a sportsperson…We can’t even imagine this! Getting a medal wouldn’t be half as good without the Anthem.”

Her tweet came after an FIR was lodged against two students in Jammu & Kashmir who allegedly did not stand up in a theater when the national anthem was played.

It has been reported that the two men are students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University of Rajouri district. It has been alleged that when the national anthem was being played, the two did not even stand up. They were seen taking pictures while the national anthem was being played.

A few days back the Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoty made it mandatory for staffers to sing the national anthem every morning and national song every evening.

While last month Supreme court mentioned on the issue citing, “We don’t have to wear patriotism on our sleeve.” However, Heena has a different opinion about the same and thus voiced herself on Twitter.
