In a shocking incident, the body of a 59-year-old head constable (promotee) was found hanging from a tree near a cremation ground in Meerut.
The victim, who as been identified as Virendra Singh, was working as a clerk in the court of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Muzaffarnagar and who hailed from Muktesra, Hapur.
His body was found on March 2 morning and according to the suicide note recovered from his body, he was taking the extreme step due to a ‘missing file’ from his court for which he was being blamed.
Singh blamed the SDM for this missing file and the police are now trying to figure out the content of this file and how it could lead to suicide.

As the details about the missing file are still not clear, the police are yet to register a case against the SDM.

The body, which was found hanging near the Kazipura cremation ground has been sent for post-mortem.
But even as the police investigate the matter, the family members of the victim have claimed but they were unaware of any missing file and even the rest of the staff could not reveal anything substantial on the matter.
