Haryana will soon impose fine on people who release water on roads, further damaging them.

The move comes after the government realised that major damage to roads has been caused by the release of water.

Such people will be liable to a fine of Rs 10,000 and a three-month imprisonment.

Also, under the proposed law, people who even throw water on the road from a bucket will face punishment.

State PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh said the government would soon introduce legislation in this connection.

The minister added that the government has decided to use green technology for construction of a 5-kilometre road from Hansi to Sultanpur on the patterns of German technology.
