Harmanpreet Kaur, the 29-yr-old is the all-rounder of the Indian women’s cricket team. She is the first woman to score a century in Women’s T20 International. In fact, the player also received the Arjuna Award for cricket in the year 2017. Harmanpreet Kaur made her ODI and International T20 debuts in the year 2009, and since then, there is no looking back. Kaur has essayed the role of the team captain on many occasions and has made headway every time.
She is praised by all not only for the game that she plays but also for the amazing human being she is. And most recently during the ICC Women World T20, she once again gave proof of her commendable character. Read on to know what happened.
The incident happened during the national anthem ceremony for the Group B match between India and Pakistan. The players from both teams gathered along with children mascots for national anthems. During the ceremony, the mascot standing by Harmanpreet felt unwell.
Kaur supported the kid by hand during the anthem and after the anthem was over, she lifted the kid in her arms. She safely escorted the kid to a ground staff to ensure the mascot received proper care.
