A day after actor Randeep Hooda clarified his stance on DU student Gurmehar Kaur and how he was not aware of the trolling she got, Kaur has hit back at him with a new tweet.
On March 8, Hooda said that his views were misconstrued by the media and that he had just laughed at Sehwag’s tweet without seeing the implication behind it.
“I didn’t know who this girl was.. I saw a tweet by Sehwag (former cricketer Virender Sehwag) and I often laugh at his jokes. He makes pretty funny jokes about all kinds of things. And I just laughed at it and left it. I didn’t see the connotation in it then I got some messages, and that some prominent journalists are making comments on it, conversing on it.”
His and Sehwag’s tweets were taken against Kaur and her campaign against ABVP, with many using their tweets to further troll her.
While Sehwag later clarified his tweet which showed a picture of him holding a placard “I did not score two triple centuries. My bat did” was just a jest, Hooda on March 8 said that he should have been careful with his tweet.
He also sympathised with Kaur and said that the trolling experience must have been traumatic…
“As an actor I have faced this (trolling) before and will have it in future but as a young person to face this would be very traumatic and she shouldn’t have gone through this.”
His and Sehwag’s response though doesn’t seem to have gone down well with Gurmehar Kaur, who on March 9 again tweeted,
“I didn’t tweet my hands did” https://t.co/K5EHmTlJbe

Though her tweet has already got over 1,000 retweets and over 2,000 ‘likes’, there was mixed response from her followers, with many praising her and others accusing her of milking from the issue.
