The next edition of IPL could be a fulfilling experience for Kochi Tuskers Kerala’s fans. After the news of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super King’s comeback rejoiced fans, this can be another reason to celebrate.
BCCI had terminated Kochi Tuskers on account of breaching the contract. The matter was dragged to the court. KTK won the arbitration which will make BCCI shell out Rs. 1080 crore. However, the board has approached KTK for an out of court settlement.
This is a chance for Kochi to come back in IPL, whereas BCCI has urged the consortium of five companies to use the formal path for the same.
There is a possibility that since the board is looking for an out of court settlement, they might have to spin the table as KTK demands. However, a BCCI official said, “There is no chance of giving them their place back in IPL. They want them because they want to sell it? The only way out is for them to accept the one-time settlement and put the issue to rest.”
Kochi Tuskers were terminated after 2 seasons and some players have still not received their full compensation. As both the sides have been quite adamant on their stance till now, what follows will be a crucial turn.
