A grenade attack was hurled by terrorists on a Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police in the area of Imam Sahab, Shopian district this Wednesday. However, the target was missed and the explosion happened outside the camp, due to which three civilians have suffered injuries.
As per the report by India Today, local militants of Lashkar and Hizbul could be responsible for the attack.
The injured were rushed to the hospital. Security forces immediately reached the spot to launch search operations. The police have registered a case and an investigation, and a manhunt, to find the culprits has already started.
Earlier during the day, two unidentified persons tried to rob the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Shopian district by sprinkling chillies into the eyes of the bank’s guard and snatching his rifle. The attempt was, however, resisted successfully by the guard and the attackers fled from the spot.
