The web mapping service Google Maps is unarguably the most powerful and invaluable app out there. Over one billion people who use it regularly know how valuable it is for everyday life. People usually refer to Google Maps to commute in areas that they are not familiar with. Over the years the app has grown to encompass satellite imagery, millions of points of interest, street views, turn-by-turn navigation, traffic conditions, public transportation, and a good deal more.
Despite the app’s massive popularity, sometimes users find it difficult to understand directions. It happens in cases when there is a flyover or multi-directional flyovers.
Something similar happened with stand-up comedian Kartik Arora who faced trouble in finding direction for the flyovers. So he tweeted to Google Maps:
Itne badhiya maps banaye, chota sa feature aur daal dete ki saaf saaf bolde flyover par chadhna hai ya neeche se jaana hai. 5 inch ke screen par aadhe milimetre ka deflection Kahan se dekhe aadmi?

After the tweet became viral, many other Twitter users too started sharing their examples and not everyone shared their pleasant experiences.
And after the news reached Google India, they responded:
Shukar manate hain aap jaise users ka, jo humein sahi raah dikhaate hain. Behtar bante jaane ka yeh safar rukega nahin, mere humsafar.

Now check out the responses of the users:
Maps bad me bhi sahi ho jayegi lekin pehle translation sahi kijiye. Aisi translation rahi to pakka sab fail honge.

Hey, apart from joke I’m the one who suffered with a penalty of 13km due to this blunder in your app. Have to move under the flyover at Gazipur for Jhilmil but I drove on flyover and took a U turn all the way 13 km ahead at Sarai Kale Khan. (13 km to and 13 km from total 26km) 🤐

Meanwhile, Apple Maps, the rival of Google Maps, as a user of mapping service, you must know that while Google Maps has Street View, and Apple Maps has Flyover. Apple Maps takes you to a 3D tour of a city in a way that looks and feels like you are flying over it. The Flyover function allows user to pan and tilt and walk around with their iPhone to move around the map.
