One big release that will be hitting the screen on Independence Day this year is going to be Reema Kagti’s sports drama ‘Gold’. Ritesh Sidhwani and the multi-faceted Farhan Akhtar have produced the movie. According to co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani, the movie is set against real backdrop between 1933-48 India and is not based on any character.

Though the response to the trailer was overwhelming, unfortunately, not all of it was positive.

The shooting began back in July 2017 at foreign locations including Bradford, Rotherham, and Doncaster in Yorkshire.
