The news of yesteryear actress Geeta Kapoor being abandoned by her son shook all of us in past few days. The ‘Pakeezah’ actress was hospitalized for treatment of falling blood pressure in Goregaon’s SRV Hospital on April 21. All of us can take a sigh of relief as she has been discharged from the hospital and shifted to an old age home.
After Geeta Kapoor’s story got the media’s attention, two members of the film fraternity came to her rescue. Filmmaker and CBFC member, Ashoke Pandit, and producer Ramesh Taurani took charge of the situation, settled the hospital bill and finally shifted her to a better place.
Ashoke Pandit informed people about the latest development on Twitter:

The shocking incident came to light when the hospital filed a complaint with the police after a month of Geeta Kapoor’s son’s disappearance. As the bill reached 1.5 lakh, her son Raja left the hospital looking for an ATM and never returned. All the attempts to establish contact with him failed as he switched off his number and moved out of their flat soon after. Even Geeta’s daughter is unreachable and is believed to have followed her brother’s lead.
