Gurmehar Kaur has been massively trolled for siding with the Left-wing parties in her opposition to campus violence.
The daughter of a martyr, Kaur was both ridiculed and praised for her stand the Ramjas College clash between AISA and ABVP students.
Twitter went into a frenzy when Virender Sehwag took a dig at a 2016 video of hers in which she claimed that Pakistan had not killed her father.

Sehwag was joined by Randeep Hooda, whose comment triggered a war between him and everyone supporting Kaur, including journalists, politicians and Kaur herself.
But Gautam Gambhir took a different stand.
Gambhir posted a video today supporting Kaur’s right to express her views.
The freedom of expression is absolute and equal for all!
High time we learnt that and practised it daily in every sphere of life. pic.twitter.com/iMfIanQyh1

The video was retweeted by Kaur. She also posted a thank you note:
@GautamGambhir thank you 🙂

In the middle of all this heat generated over the remarks of a girl and the hypocrisy of a certain section of the media and many intellectuals, Gambhir’s remark makes a lot of sense.
We only hope that both sides listen to his message. The Left should not prevent the Right from speaking their mind and vice versa. And the media should unite and present both sides of the argument.
