The recent incident of a paramilitary vehicle of the CRPF running over three stone pelters in Nowhatta area of Jammu and Kashmir, sparked a new wave of controversy in the country. While the protesters were actually attacking the CRPF vehicle, the jawans inside it were trying to escape the area and ran it over three protesters, one of which died and two got injured. The video footage from the incident had invited mixed reactions from all over the country.

The attack coming at a time when the Indian Army has been observing ceasefire for Ramzan was a matter of shock for the country. While on one hand, the opposition party in Jammu and Kashmir condemned the ruling government and on the other hand, the people of India stood by their soldiers.
Shocking. Stone pelter mob tried to attack and vandalize CRPF 28th battalion vehicle in Nowhatta of Srinagar, #Kashmir this afternoon. Somehow the brave CRPF Jawans escaped the fringe Islamist paid mob. This is what separatists are paid to do from their masters in Pakistan. pic.twitter.com/ZMUJRBINw7

Now, what has kicked off another row in the country is registration of FIR against the CRPF. On June 2, 2018, the Jammu and Kashmir police registered FIR against CRPF driver for rash driving as the incident had led to death of a youth. This FIR was registered against Sections 279 and 337 of the RPC (Ranbir Penal Code).
The police has also booked unidentified stone pelters on charges of rioting and attempt to murder under Sections 307, 148, 149, 152, 336, and 427 of the RPC.
A number of people have expressed their anger for the CRPF jawan having booked for rash driving. One of the people who have expressed their resentment is cricketer Gautam Gambhir.
Gambhir actively participates on social media over the matters concerning the Indian Army and raises his voice for the family of soldiers and martyrs. He has now condemned the government for inaction and offered a solution on the issue of terrorism in the north Indian state. Take a look at what he tweeted:
Am devastated. Wonder if India still thinks there is room for talks with stone-pelters! Come on, let’s get real. Show me the political will and my armed forces, my @crpfindia will show you the results. https://t.co/PdtCNVbOqr

I have a solution:Make it mandatory for politicians to spend a week in troubled parts of Kashmir along with their families&without security. Only then they b allowed to contest 2019 elections. No other way to make them understand d plight of armed forces & a well-meaning Kashmiri https://t.co/PdtCNVbOqr

In no time, Gambhir got support from a number of Twitter users. Below is now Twitterati reacted to Gambhir’s tweet:

Not only politicans but also prestitutes should be made to spend a week or so in troubled Kashmir along with their families. Then let them talk of peace/talks etc
— Raghavendra Upadhya (@RaghavendraUp16) June 2, 2018
Better still they should be made to pass through the stone pelters areas ….. and made to go through the same mental torture of ‘alive or dead’ just like our forces have to face each day.
Sara peace talks ka bhoot utar jayega !!

Hey @RahulGandhi I challenge you to stay in Kashmir along with ur family w/o security. Accept it and spend a week there. Then tell us ur experience. @Shehla_Rashid @kavita_krishnan @rssurjewala @ArvindKejriwal @MamataOfficial @pbhushan1 @KapilSibal

— Nilesh (@inileshj) June 2, 2018
Well said Sir..I agree..that’s the only way they could only understand what our soldiers go through..
This should be done..👍

Massive Respect for u sir👍😊🙏🙏
Ur the only one who talks openly about those subjects

Let me also add that , let the politicians take their families to Kashmir , leave them alone for two days , tour the state without cell phones and then they will know how difficult it is for the families of our great jawans to live.
