The white raven from the citadel announced the arrival of winter in Westeros. But this winter won’t last for more than 13 episodes for the millions of the viewers of Game of Thrones.
The Season 6 finale was enough to point at the fact that the cult television series is now entering its climax season.
Makers David Benioff and DB Weiss told Deadline that from the very beginning the total length of the show was to be a maximum of 75 hours.
“Call it 73 for now,” Benioff said.
Since each episode is an hour long, this means we are left with around 13 episodes, or at max 15.
Now will these 13 episodes play out? Will they be aired in a single season or will they be divided between two.
Benioff told Deadline that there could be two more seasons.
“Daenerys is finally coming back to Westeros, Jon Snow is king of the North, Cersei is sitting on the Iron Throne and we know the Night King is up there, waiting for all of them,” he said.
A lot is yet to be seen in the series. Jon Snow’s parentage is clear but its implications on the mother of the dragons and Sansa Stark is yet to be seen. While Cersei Lannister is the principal target of all in Westeros, the biggest enemy of everyone is about to arrive at the Wall.
