Ahead of the much-awaited Football World Cup to be held in Russia in 2018, a pro Islamic State (IS) organization has released a chilling image of Argentinian football superstar Lionel Messi. In the photoshopped poster, Messi is shown behind bars with a blood oozing eye. The image released has had an impact as it has been taken as a threat by the terror outfit about triggering violence at the upcoming mega Football sporting event.
The poster, released by Wafa Media Foundation, defines the message delivered as:
You are fighting a state that does not have failure in its dictionary.
It ends with “just terrorism”, which is a tweaked version of the famous tagline of the American shoe company Nike, “Just Do It”.
This poster was stumbled upon and tweeted by the famous intelligence group SITE, which has been tracking terror activities world wide.

It is to be noted that IS has targeted a football match earlier also. The previous time, Islamic State had attacked the Stade de France football stadium in 2015, when a friendly match between France and Germany was being played. During the sporting event four explosions were heard, which resulted in the death of at least four people.
This attack was allegedly carried out by a couple of suicide bombers, with there being suspicion about involvement of another one. Till date, the Stade de France football stadium terror attack is regarded as the worst attack at any sporting event in the history of Europe.
