Eight years ago, they did their first delivery to a customer in Mahabubnagar. It was the time when both Sachin and Binny Bansal used to traverse the roads and lanes of Bangaluru (then Bangalore) on a two-wheeler shipping or making deliveries themselves.

Their product, Flipkart, has since revolutionised the entire Indian e-commerce market and things have changed a lot both in terms of organisation and revenue. (Flipkart is now a $15 billion company.)

Both the Bansals (unrelated despite their common surname) recently made their debut in Forbes India rich list at 86th rank with a net worth of $1.3 billion each. Flipkart has a delivery system that appears to imbibe the best principles of supply chain management.

But Flipkart is in no mood to sit back and relax.

So when Sachin Bansal himself decided to join his company’s expansive delivery team to deliver products to customers, he was perhaps trying to have a renewed experience in understanding both the mindset of his customer and his delivery team.

While doing it, he was also studying the mood of the customers.

And learning that his delivery team faces issues such as this; too many of which might delay them at their next delivery destination.

Sachin Bansal held conversations with the customers.

He did not forget to share a selfie with two delivery mates who accompanied him.

Sachin was not the only one going around town making deliveries on October 15. When his friend and business partner was doing it, how could Binny be behind?

Punit Soni, the Chief Product Officer of Flipkart, was out for delivery too.

It is learnt that senior Flipkart leaders will be doing the same for the next few days.
