The shooting of the much-awaited sequel of last year’s hit Wonder Woman has begun and the first look of Wonder Woman 2 also has been revealed. As expected it is taking the internet by storm. Even though we have learned a few tidbits here and there about acclaimed director Patty Jenkins’s follow up film, the movie doesn’t have a title until recently.
Just earlier this month, DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer Geoff Johns, who handles the script of the sequel, changed his Twitter header to a new logo which suggests a little bit that the title of Wonder Woman 2 may very well be called so. Interestingly, it happened to be true and now it’s confirmed that the official title of the sequel is ‘Wonder Woman 1984.’
.@geoffjohns Twitter header is WW84 – is that a clue as to when #WonderWoman2 is set and possibly a clue to the name of the film? Wonder Woman ‘84 does have a nice ring to it #DCU pic.twitter.com/xisjbATZDc

The news of both the official title as well as the first-look image of the movie came on June 13 when its director Patty Jenkins tweeted a pretty shocking picture on his Twitter accounts. The picture was of Chris Pine, who played Wonder Woman’s love interest Steve Trevor in the first film, back in action on the set of the sequel. The image shows Chris Pine wearing a sweatsuit and sports shoes, standing inside what definitely looks like a mall.

Gal Gadot, who plays the title role in the movie, also posted her own first-look picture for the movie ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ on her Twitter account.
The image shows the titular character staring at a bunch of TV screens, some of which display very 1980s things.

The movie is all about the 1980s as revealed by images posted above. It reinforces the film’s setting, which represents more than 60-year jump from its predecessor, which was set during the end of World War I.
It is reportedly said that the pics were revealed to commemorate the start of shooting on the big sequel. In the movie, Gal Gadot is back as the Amazon superheroine, but she’s not the only returning cast member. Chris Pine also returned and is reprising his role as Steve Trevor.
The film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the super-villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ will release on November 1, 2019.
However, what is really shocking is the mysterious return of Steve Trevor, who died in the first Wonder Woman sacrificing himself in an explosion high in the sky. What’s your view on that?
