For Bollywood, the year 2017 is turning out to be a year of political films. Only recently, a movie based on the book ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ was announced. A week down the line, we are gearing up for a story straight from the life of the family which has ruled us for most part of the years after independence – the Gandhis.
National award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is coming with his most-awaited film ‘Indu Sarkar’.
Neil Nitin Mukesh is going to play the role of Sanjay Gandhi. He calls it his “most daring” role till now. He tweeted this poster of the film, which features him.

First thing that hits after looking at the poster is if an old picture has been used for the same. If it were not Supriya Vinod, who looks a little different from Indira Gandhi, we wouldn’t have recognized Neil in Sanjay Gandhi’s garb. The resemblance is so uncanny that it adds up to the excitement for the movie.
‘Indu Sarkar’ is going to be a highly political movie which is about the Emergency period when Indira Gandhi was our prime minister. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the audience on this sensitive topic from the past.
Kirti Kulhari famous for her strong role in ‘Pink’ will be seen in the movie along with Neil Nitin Mukesh, Supriya Vinod, and Anupam Kher. The movie is set to release on June 27, 2017.
