Foreign Brands like Google and Facebook have topped the list of ten most influential brands in India while domestic brands like Flipkart and Airtel were placed lower in the list.
According to the study by the global research firm Ipsos, brands are more than just corporate logos. “They have meaning, personality, even attitude. The role brands play in our lives and the world at large is becoming more important,” said Amit Adarkar, India Managing Director of Ipsos.
The study, which was conducted for the first time in India, asked more than 1,000 Indians online to assess more than 100 brands.
On the top is Google, followed by Facebook, Gmail, Microsoft and Samsung. WhatsApp is at sixth position.
Indian brand Flipkart is at seventh place, followed by US based Amazon at eight place. SBI and Airtel are at ninth and tenth place respectively.
“From improving our personal well-being to transforming the communities and societies we live in, many brands today are driven to make a dent in the universe,” said Amit Adarkar.
