As per a recent report, a group of 150 men from the NGO Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF) took a dip in the holy river of Ganga at the Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh in order to perform a ‘pind daan’ (last rites) ritual of their troubled marriages. They organized a ‘pishachini mukti puja’ for their divorced wives in anticipation of liberating the world from ‘harmful feminists’. The event took place on August 13.
These men were celebrating the 10th anniversary of the NGO. Amit Deshpande (President of men’s rights organisation Vaastav Foundation) spoke about the issue.
“On the ghats of Kashi (Varanasi), our brothers have gathered to conduct the last rites for all the abusive women in their lives, including the women who misuse feminism to harass Indian society. We want to conduct the last rites of the brand of feminism which encourages women-centric laws.”
He also added:
“And for all these demon-like feminists who talk of equality but do not practice it, we will conduct the ‘pishachini mukti puja’ and ‘pind daan.’”
Deshpande also contended that the dowry and domestic violence laws in India are inclined towards women and often exploited by them. He also explained that the ‘feminists’ have deviated from their goals thus leading India towards being a female-centric society.
Apparently, the group has addressed to the ‘highest authority’, Lord Shiva! They ‘asked’ for his help to do away with the ‘corpses of their marriage’. Partha TR, a men rights activist mentioned:
“What happens to a man stuck in a bad marriage? If there is no divorce, there is no salvation. Every married man in India facing this problem carries a corpse of his marriage for a long time. This corpse and the soul of the memories cannot be dragged forward forever.”
