Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the fittest cricketers in the world. His fans know his obsession with fitness and exercise. When it comes to running between the wickets, there is hardly anyone who can beat him in speed.
His passion towards the game is the reason behind his success and achievements as a cricketer. Even at the age of 35, Dhoni is a competitor for cricketers younger than him. Well, the famous run-out against Bangladesh is proof.
In his cricketing career, Dhoni made the fastest ever run in cricket history!
Yes, you read it right. In an ODI against England in 2006 at Margao, MS Dhoni took two runs during a complicated moment. It was a do or die situation, Dhoni dared to run and succeeded. He completed the second run (20 meters) in approx 2.7 seconds with pads on. This set the record for the fastest run ever taken in cricket history.
Surprisingly, this record is even faster than Usain Bolt’s record.
Usain Bolt’s record says that he completed 100 meters in 9.58 seconds. It’s a fact that runners achieve maximum speed around 50 meter mark. So in Berlin, while making the world record of 9.58 seconds, Bolt took 2.89 seconds to cover the initial 20 meters.
Hence proved, that MS Dhoni with pads on created a record of covering 20 meters distance in approx 2.7 seconds. He has again proved his amazing dedication to the game.
