Even after almost a month of protest, the government seems to have paid no attention to the farmers of Tamil Nadu.
Hundreds of poor farmers are protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the establishment of the Kaveri Management committee which will look into the issues of waiving farmers’ debts, Drought Relief Package and other irrigation related issues.
However, with little or no attention being paid to them, the farmers have executed several other tactics to get attention. Earlier, they had protested wearing minimal clothing, with a string of skulls around their necks, and rats and snakes in their mouths.

Now, the farmers have announced that they will drink urine and eat feces on Sunday if their demands are not met.
The state government of Tamil Nadu declared the state drought-stricken in January after 100 farmers committed suicide. The low water level in the river Kaveri has made 29 lakh hectares of land unfit for cultivation since 2016.
