Justice has prevailed! Asaram Bapu has finally been convicted of raping a minor aged 16 years, in his ashram. The judge decided to give him the maximum non-capital punishment – life imprisonment. While Asaram has been imprisoned for life, his two aides, Sharad Chandra alias Sharat Chandra, and Sanchita alias Shilpi have been sentenced jail for twenty years each. However, the other two, Prakash and Shiva have been acquitted.
Soon after the court’s verdict, people started sharing prime minister Narendra Modi’s old pictures with Asaram Bapu in which he can be seen taking blessings from the fake Godman.

Farhan Akhtar, who is quite vocal about his opinions and has often expressed his views over burning issues, has again taken charge to slam those who tried defaming the PM by sharing his old pictures with the rapist.
Here’s what he said:
So, Asaram is a child rapist. And he has been found guilty. Good.
But can people please stop sharing images of him with PM Modi. Patronising him before he was exposed to be a pervert is no crime.
Let’s be fair and give him the benefit of doubt that he, like us, did not know.

Farhan Akhtar asked people to believe that the PM didn’t know about Asaram’s crimes at the time he met him. Do you agree with him? Do share your views in the comments section below.
