Another Abuse Of Power? Ex-MP’s Son Brandishes Gun And Threatens To Shoot Couple At Delhi Hotel

In what is seen as another incident of abuse of power by sons of people in authority, a video clip of a politician’s son brandishing a gun and threatening to shoot a couple at a Delhi luxury hotel is going viral on the social media. The man in question was identified as Ashish Pandey, who is reportedly said to be the son of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Rakesh Pandey and brother of a sitting MLA, Ritesh Pandey, from Jalalpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident reportedly took place at Hyatt Regency hotel in South Delhi. In the video, Ashish Pandey was seen arguing fiercely with a couple at the porch of the hotel waving gun, allegedly hurling abuses and threatening to shoot them. This all happened in front of hotel guards and staff.

According to reports, Pandey got into a brawl with Gaurav Singh, said to be the son of former Delhi Congress MLA Kunwar Karan Singh, and his female friend. The quarrel started after Singh allegedly entered the women’s washroom to look for his female friend. It seemed that Pandey’s three women friends objected to Singh’s entry into the washroom and the two groups got into a fight in front of the bathroom.

However, they left from there after the intervention by hotel staff, but ran into each other once again at the porch of the hotel and began to quarrel again. The brawl was recorded by someone and you can see Pandey approaching Gaurav with the gun in his hand and hurling abuses. You can watch the video below as shared by someone on Twitter.

It is reportedly said that Police swung into action after the video surfaced mysteriously late on October 15 evening and have filed an FIR under sections of Arms Act and are trying to track down the accused. Joint teams from Delhi Police along with cops from UP’s crime branch are said to be conducting raids at multiple places in the state to nab Pandey.
Meanwhile, as the news of the fight and video of brandishing gun spread like a wildfire and police have started the manhunt, people have started to look for the man in question, Ashish Pandey. A web portal has reportedly said that he is a known name in Lucknow and has his hands in many businesses. No wonder, and interestingly, it is said that Ashish was found to have a love for guns. Well, these pictures, posted by the same portal, only strengthens the claim.
Well, if this claim is found to be true, Ashish Pandey would certainly be charged seriously under Indian Arms Act.
