Pedestrian lights or traffic lights may be one of the most frustrating things in the world. As much as the pedestrian lights are responsible to ensure smooth flow of traffic and curb accidents, they keep us waiting which is rather considered a time killer by many. What if the pedestrian lights become a matter of discussion and people start loving them? Well, a new attempt has been made by the authorities of the German town of Friedberg to add some creativity to the pedestrian lights. They have incorporated the Elvis Presley traffic lights. Yeah, that’s true!
People are now falling in love with pop sensation Elvis Presley as Friedberg now has his images installed in the pedestrian lights. A red image of Presley displays him standing at the microphone as he tells the pedestrians to keep their ‘blue suede shoes’ on the sidewalk.
On the other hand his green figure shows his signature steps. Elvis Presley traffic lights has become the new love for the people of Friedberg.
As per CNN, the idea behind Elvis’s image was to capture the attention of the visitors. As per the report, this attempt cost €900 (approx Rs 72,800).
The American pop singer-songwriter was stationed in Friedberg while he was serving in the US Army between 1958 and 1960. The town is already having a square named after him and people are happy that such an attempt has been made to honor Elvis.
A nearby town, Bad Nauheim, also hosts an annual Elvis Presley Film Festival since 2002.
