President Donald Trump often graces the headlines. Unfortunately, mostly for the wrong reasons. Since he became the president of the United States of America, this man has been one of the famous meme subjects for the netizens. From his hair to his speech, it seems that each and everything about Donald Trump qualifies as potential material for memes. Without debating about the validity of this fact, let us tell you more about this present fiasco.
Recently, he took to his social media account to post a GoT styled meme. As if the netizens weren’t doing enough that he himself got down to the meme business! Let’s see what he posted:
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 2, 2018
Wondering what it is all about? Well, this tweet was followed up by another from White House Twitter account. Here is the tweet:
President @realDonaldTrump is reimposing all sanctions lifted under the unacceptable Iran deal. The U.S. is reimposing the toughest sanctions ever on Iran, targeting many of the corrupt regime’s critical sectors.Advertisement
— The White House (@WhiteHouse) November 2, 2018
The tweet by Donald Trump actually referred to new sanctions which became clear from the post by White House. Under Barack Obama’s administration, the USA had an agreement with Iran to lift some sanctions in exchange for controls over nuclear programs in Tehran. However, the Trump government has decided to impose new sanctions.
Following the tweets from White House and Donald Trump, HBO gave a statement portraying their displeasure. They said:
“We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes.”
Soon the star cast of Game of Thrones took to the twitter to show their displeasure. Especially, the ‘stark sisters’ didn’t hold back their annoyance. Here’s what they said:

Writer George R.R. Martin too posted his reaction on Twitter.

Just so you know, the first episode of the series starts with Ned Stark executing a man who ran from military service. It would seem Cadet Bone Spurs missed important messages from the series.

Also, HBO came up with a tweet that perfectly sums up their feeling and that of the netizens too.
How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?
