India is currently in a very festive mood as the festival of Diwali is finally here. Diwali is not only being celebrated in India but in different parts of the world. Like never before, Dubai is also seen in a festive spirit and the country is celebrating Diwali too. The Dubai government in association with the Consulate General of India is celebrating the 10 days ‘Deepavali Utsav‘ in Dubai. Something like this is happening for the very first time in Dubai.

Various associations have come together to celebrate the festival. The fiesta is being looked after by Dubai Police, Al Seef – Dubai’s waterfront promenade, Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment and the Consulate General of India.

This is the first time the residents of Dubai will be witnessing Diwali being celebrated. The festivities which began on November 1, will go on till November 10.

Dubai-based airline Emirates also fostered the festive spirit with a Diwali-themed food truck, where traditional Indian sweets and snacks were served.

A number of entertainment programs including live Bollywood and Bhangra performances have been kept. Apart from this people would also be able to witness and be a part of the diya lighting and firecrackers show on Diwali.

There would also be an attempt to create a Guinness World Record for the most number of people lighting up LED lights in a relay.

The Dubai Police Band has been the highlight of the show till now. The band has been playing the Indian National Anthem at the Utsav. Checkout the video of the same below:
