India had a shameful defeat against Pakistan in the finals of ICC Champions Trophy. It was visible that the reason for India’s failure was the poor batting performance. But there was something else that was causing tension in the team on the final day, it was the rift between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli.
Anil Kumble clearly mentioned in his farewell post that his partnership with Kohli is “untenable”, and hence, stepping down as India’s head coach is a right option for him.
Now, According to Nav Bharat Times, it is said that Kohli didn’t value his team’s decision, too. It is reported that he boycotted the team’s decision to bat first, and chose to field first. It was decided in the team meeting that India will bat first if we win the toss.
Apparently, the Indian team is going through a low phase as allegations continue to deter Kohli’s image. We can only wait till the captain speaks his side of the story.
