India’s Test series loss to South Africa has been the talk of the week for many with it being Virat Kohli’s first loss as captain and India’s first series loss in three years.
The disappointing performance by team India not only left skipper Virat angry but has also left the fans disheartened that India made it so easy for South Africa to win this series.
While the Indian Team is feeling dejected by this loss, former captain MS Dhoni has chosen to look at it as a learning experience and said that the team had taken 20 wickets in both the Tests and has thus performed well.
In an interview he said.
“I’ll say look at the positives. To win a Test match you need 20 wickets. We have taken 20 wickets. That is the biggest positive. If you can’t take 20 wickets, you can never win a Test. Irrespective of whether you are playing at home or outside. We are taking 20 wickets, which means you are always in a position to win the match. Once you start scoring runs, you are there (with a chance of winning).”
While Indian fans might be disappointed in team India’s performance, that’s one positive outlook by Dhoni which we all need to look at and appreciate.
While team India still has one more test left to redeem themselves, we will see Dhoni join the team for the ODI series which starts on February 1.
