Playing for a national team means a lot for a sportsperson and one has to sacrifice one’s family life in order to meet the challenges of performing well. And our cricket team is no exception to this.
India’s ODI captain MS Dhoni has taken a forced break and would be spending next three months with his family.
Talking about the break, Dhoni recently said that he would be spending some quality time with daughter Ziva, as she is yet to realize that he is her father.
Talking about the break after winning the Zimbabwe ODI series, Dhoni during the post-match presentation said:
Though the comment was meant as a tongue in cheek humor; the comment did show how much sacrifice a player ends up making when he or she becomes part of the national team.
After this tour, Dhoni will be next seen in October during the ODI series against New Zealand, as he has retired from the longer format of the game.
Meanwhile the Indian team is scheduled to take on the West Indies Cricket team at the Caribbean next month. They would be playing a four-match Test series.
