Breaking his silence on Ravi Shastri’s statement, India skipper MS Dhoni retorted that it would be BCCI who will decided his fate and not him.
Dhoni, who till recently, was famous for being ‘Captain Cool’ has been under a lot of pressure that has tested his ‘coolness’ and composure.
Facing repeated questions about his retirement from cricket, Dhoni, during T20 World Cup, had verbally attacked a scribe for asking about India’s close 1 run victory over Bangladesh.
The sequence seems to be continuing as Dhoni again lost his cool prior to the team’s departure for the Zimbabwe tour.
What seemed to have irked Dhoni was a reporter’s question about team director Ravi Shastri’s statement that Virat Kohli is ready to lead India in all formats.
Dhoni sternly replied:
While he tried his best not to further loose his cool, the irk was evident when the reporter asked him to translate whatever he said in Hindi.
The skipper dismissed him by saying “You are good enough to do that.” While one understands Dhoni’s frustration, looking at how much pressure he has been facing lately, the fact that Shastri might soon become Indian team’s coach can only mean more trouble for him.
Earlier this week Yuvraj Singh had lost his cool over the question of Kohli becoming captain and he refused to give an answer.
